The great northern circuit in its most complete version without Manyara. We start in the relative calm of Tarangire, the kingdom of elephants and baobabs, before shifting to the scale of the Serengeti and the spectacle of migration. The conclusion in the Ngorongoro crater closes the loop on a concentrated, almost unreal density of wildlife. A logical sequence that tells three Tanzanias in one.
4-day, 3-night private safari.
Pick up at your hotel early in the morning (ask your hotel to provide an early breakfast) and transfer to Zanzibar airport for your 8:00 AM flight to Arusha airport (ARK), where you will arrive at 9:15 AM. Upon arrival, you will meet your safari guide and head to Tarangire National Park for your first safari with a picnic lunch. The park consists of natural vegetation mainly composed of acacia forests and giant African baobabs, with vast swamp areas to the south. The river and swamps attract wildlife like a magnet during the dry season in Tanzania. Tarangire National Park is known for hosting some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This African national park is also home to three rare animal species: the greater kudu, the fringe-eared oryx, and a few ash-colored starlings. Overnight at Mvuli Lodge or Farm Of Dreams Lodge (more information about accommodations in the lodging section below).
After an early breakfast, we will head to Serengeti National Park, passing through the beautiful farmlands of Karatu and the Ngorongoro conservation area. Leaving the highlands behind, we will descend into the heart of the wild Africa, Serengeti National Park, with its endless plains stretching as far as the eye can see. We will go to the central part of the park, known as Seronera, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, with the Seronera River providing a precious water source for this region and thus attracting a representative wildlife population of most species in the Serengeti. After about 7 hours of driving, we will arrive in the early afternoon to enjoy a safari in Serengeti National Park. At the end of the day, settle into a luxury tented camp for the evening, dinner, and overnight at “Serengeti Queen” or “Golden camp”.
After an early breakfast, meet your guide for a safari in Serengeti National Park, then depart for the Ngorongoro conservation area with a safari along the way and a picnic lunch. Ngorongoro is a special conservation area and not a national park. The entire area is managed both for the animals and for the local Maasai populations who graze their cattle alongside the indigenous wildlife. Evening, dinner, and overnight in a luxury tent at “Angata tented camp” or “Embelakai camp”.
After breakfast, enjoy a 5-hour safari in the Ngorongoro Crater. It is one of the most densely populated African areas in the world in terms of wildlife. It is home to about 30,000 animals, including some of the last black rhinos in Tanzania.
Thanks to a year-round supply of water and forage, the crater is home to a wide variety of animals, including herds of wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, elands, warthogs, hippos, and giant African elephants. Another major attraction of this picturesque national park is its significant predator population, which includes lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopard. We will enjoy a picnic on the crater floor. In the afternoon, we will return to Arusha airport for your flight to Zanzibar, and return by taxi to your hotel.
What is included: Taxi between your hotel and the airport; plane tickets, four days of safari with an English-speaking guide in a private jeep equipped with wifi, three nights in a lodge, all meals.
What is not included: Tips, dinner drinks (except water), and additional purchases.
What to take with you: passport, visa, insurance, mosquito repellent, cap, sunglasses, sneakers, a bandana to protect you from dust, and a sweater.
Tarangire Park is 2 hours from the airport (ARK). We recommend an extra night and a return flight the next day to fully enjoy it (additional charge, dinner + night + breakfast included).
