Set sail from Stone Town on a unique excursion to discover Chumbe Island, a protected marine and forest conservation reserve. Only 18 visitors per day are allowed. A short boat ride will take you to this true nature sanctuary.
On the agenda: snorkelling above one of the best-preserved coral reefs on the East African coast, followed by a guided walk through the coral forest, baobab trees and mangrove cave, while admiring the endemic flora and fauna. You can also climb up to the 1904 lighthouse to enjoy a panoramic view of the island and the ocean.
A lunch featuring local flavours will be served on site.
Head to the waters off the north-east of the island to snorkel in the Mnemba Island reef, where the corals and clear waters are teeming with angelfish and other tropical species. If the tide allows, stop on a beautiful sandbank to enjoy some fruit and admire the turquoise water.

Mtende Beach is a heavenly beach in the south-east of Zanzibar, renowned for its wild and unspoilt setting. Bordered by spectacular cliffs and turquoise waters, it offers a unique and peaceful landscape.
At low tide, magnificent rock formations are revealed, adding to the natural charm of the place. It’s a perfect spot for relaxation, photography and discovering authentic Zanzibar.
The Nakupenda bis sandbank, is a small islet near Stone Town that ebbs and flows with the tides.
It’s a sandbar similar to Nakupenda, located a little further away and much less touristy. Ideal for a visit to a sandbank away from mass tourism!
You’ll have the chance to swim, sunbathe and, of course, take your best photos.
