Tarangire and Ngorongoro

Two parks, two languages. Tarangire speaks the language of giants: hundreds of elephants around its river, millenary baobabs that even the pachyderms come to scratch. Ngorongoro speaks the language of vertigo: you descend into a volcanic crater 20 km in diameter where 25,000 animals live in a closed circuit all year round, and where the black rhinoceros, ghost of the savannah, still makes a few appearances. Two visually opposing experiences, ideal to combine in a few days.

You can also find other animals such as leopards, lions, hyenas, cheetahs, gazelles, impalas, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, warthogs, as well as many other animal species and different species of birds. Day 2: Karatu – Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha Airport (ARK) – Zanzibar

After an early breakfast, depart towards the Ngorongoro Crater for a safari with a picnic lunch. The Ngorongoro Crater is famous for providing one of the best wildlife viewing experiences in Africa, thanks to the constant presence of abundant wildlife, made possible by the permanent water supply at the bottom of the crater. Upon arrival at the crater’s edge, you will descend 610 meters inside to begin your safari. You will have the chance to spot the rare black rhinoceros, as well as wildebeests, buffaloes, zebras, elands, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles, and of course, majestic elephants. The crater also hosts the largest known population of lions, as well as leopards, cheetahs, and scavengers such as spotted hyenas, jackals, and the rare wild dogs. Over 500 bird species have been recorded in the Ngorongoro conservation area, including white pelicans and flamingos.

After the safari, you will head back to Arusha Airport (ARK), where you will arrive in time for check-in for your evening flight to Zanzibar, scheduled for 6:30 PM with an arrival at 7:15 PM. Then return by taxi to your hotel.
