Mikumi, it’s the south without the crowds. Bordering the Selous reserve with which it forms a single giant ecosystem, the park is distinguished by its exceptional populations of rare antelopes, greater kudus, black wildebeests, elands, which are not found elsewhere so easily. The Mkata plain, its wild heart, concentrates a dense fauna around its famous hippo pools. And little known fact: it is one of the few parks in Tanzania where the chances of seeing lions climb trees are real.
